What an amazing prize! All for the price of a stamp!
In mid-April my husband and I travelled on Virgin Atlantic flights to LA (the nice girl in check-in upgraded us to extra leg-room seats when she heard it was a competition win).
We were picked up by a chauffer-driven limousine and taken to our hotel; The Regent Beverly Wilshire, aka the Pretty Woman hotel! Motorola had also included £1,000 spending money as part of the prize, which Rodeo Drive soon sucked up. No matter, the fun was in spending it. This was our first visit to America; a truly memorable holiday we’ll never forget.
A £50,000 WIN: Chris King
The News of the world newspaper ran a competition to win £50,000 cash. All you needed to do was to collect three differently dated tokens from three News of the World papers.
I gathered the individual tokens, filled in the relevant details (name, address and day time phone number) and sent them off, not really thinking much more about it. Well, whilst I was at work, I received a phone call on my mobile from a lovely lady called Kelly who worked in the promotions dept at the News of The World. She very calmly asked if I remembered entering a competition in the paper and told me that I had won!
Within ten days the money was there in my bank account! I was really nervous walking up to the cash machine to look at my balance on the screen. Instead of seeing the usual few hundred pounds, there was, two extra noughts on it. Seeing £50,000 in your account finally makes it seem real!
Ducati 749 Superbike: John Walker
“This has all been a bit of a shock,” said John when informed of his success “this sort of thing doesn’t happen to anyone!” On a recent holiday in Palermo his wife Kate found John staring dreamy eyed into a shop window, when she walked over she discovered he was mesmerised by a Ducati “It is the kind of surprise I dreamed of,” John continued “if money were no object this would have been exactly what I wished for.”
This is John’s first big win, and it has definitely given him the taste for comping, “ when you know that you can make your biggest dream come true, just think of all the other wonderful prizes you could also be winning!”

…With money for lunch and Metro rail card in hand, we travelled first-class all the way to Paris and checked into our gorgeous hotel. There were 25 competition winners and their partners all ready to enjoy three days of fun in Paris, and watch France play Croatia in the semi-finals of the World Cup!
Travelling first-class all the way and staying in a luxurious hotel made the trip all the more special. It really was a trip of a lifetime that I will never forget.
